Evan Polchies facing three news charges while awaiting second murder trial in Bobby Martin Jr. death
Three new charges have been laid against a 31-year-old Kingsclear man who is already facing a second murder trial in the death of Bobby Martin Jr.
CBC News reports Evan Polchies was charged in provincial court Wednesday with failing to comply with a condition of undertaking or recognizance, obstructing justice, and intimidation of a justice system participant.
CBC reports the new charges pertain to contact he allegedly had with 23-year-old Joe-Anna Hachey, of Fredericton, who is also charged with second-degree murder in Martin's death.
No plea was entered and Polchies was not in the courtroom to face the charges.
He is scheduled to appear in court on March 13th to answer to the new charges, while he is also set to return to court for the 2nd-degree murder retrial in Martin's death on September 10th.
Martin was shot in the Tamarack Park in Lincoln in January 2017 and later died of his injuries.
