Expansion of second-stage housing in Fredericton officially opened
New units for a Fredericton-based organization that provides second-stage housing and family violence prevention programs were officially opened Thursday.
The $600,000 in funding for Liberty Lane Inc. came from two cost-shared agreements between the federal and provincial governments.
The province says the ten units built and renovated with the money were completed in July.
Fiona Williams, executive director at Liberty Lane, says the funding means vulnerable women and children have a safe place to live with supports on-site that can help them heal and move forward.
