Federal government announces funding for Beaverbrook Art Gallery
The federal government is spending more than half-a-million dollars to help refurbish the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in Fredericton.
Fredericton MP Matt DeCourcey made the announcement Monday on behalf of Mélanie Joly, the Minister of Canadian Heritage.
Officials say the $507,821 will be used to support upgrades to specialized equipment to help the gallery meet industry standards and enhance public programming.
That upgrades include lighting, a PA system for the entire building, security system equipment, access control devices, and a new HVAC system.
The Beaverbrook Art Gallery is currently undergoing a multimillion-dollar expansion, which is expected to officially open later this year.
