Fires displace 9 New Brunswick residents
A pair of Easter weekend house fires displaced at least nine people in New Brunswick.
A family of six including a couple, three sons and a daughter, are staying with relatives for now and received help from the Canadian Red Cross after a blaze reported around Saturday night around suppertime in the Searsville area, about 15 kilometres west of Sussex.
There were no injuries from the fire.
Another Red Cross team arranged emergency lodging and food for a man and woman forced out by a blaze late Saturday in a two-storey house in Moncton.
A third tenant was taken to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
The fire was contained to his second-storey apartment but resulted in minor smoke or water damage in the other units.
