First annual Canadian Walk for Veterans being held in Fredericton

The first annual Canadian Walk for Veterans is being held in seven cities across the country Sunday, including Fredericton.

A news release from the Equitas Society, which is organizing the event, says the walk aims to unite veterans across Canada while promoting ongoing advocacy to influence the policies, benefits, and actions that impact them.

The walk will also take place in Victoria, Vancouver, Edmonton, Ottawa, Kingston, and St. John's.

The release says the ultimate goal is to see the annual event occur in every major city across the country.

The walk begins in Downtown Fredericton Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and continues until 1 p.m. at Officers' Square.
