Five years since devastating flood in Perth-Andover
Thursday marked five years since the devastating flood in Perth-Andover.
And residents used the anniversary to remind the province of a promise it made after the devastating disaster.
According to Mayor Marianne Bell, the province said it would focus on relocating businesses once homes were moved to higher ground.
A recent engineering study recommended raising the downtown area and finding a higher location for the Perth-Andover Bridge.
It would cost about $70 million to complete the work – and that doesn't include the cost of relocating businesses.
