Food recall warning issued due to possible undeclared peanuts

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a national recall on Paldo brand Seaweed Snack products and Lotte brand Kancho Choco Biscuit because they may contain peanuts, which are not declared on the label.

The agency says anyone with an allergy to peanuts should not consume the recalled products as they may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.

The products include Paldo Roasted Seaweed, Paldo Seaweed Snack Lower in Sodium, Paldo Roasted Seaweed Reduced in Sodium, Paldo Seaweed Snack Hot and Spicy, Paldo Seaweed Snack Wasabi flavoured, and Lotte Kancho Choco Biscuit.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products.

The agency says the recall was triggered by consumer complaints, adding that reactions associated with consuming these products have been reported.

It says the recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

Further details on the recall are available on the Canadian Food Inspection Agency website
