Fredericton doctor who was removed from Air Canada flight considering legal action: Lawyer

The lawyer for a Fredericton doctor who was kicked off an Air Canada flight and accused of public drunkenness says the man is considering legal action against the airline.

Adrian Edgar was issued a ticket for public drunkenness when his flight from Toronto to Fredericton last July 6th was diverted to Ottawa and he was escorted off the plane, but says all he did was tell a flight attendant that he was disappointed the airline no longer offered free snacks.

His lawyer, Kelly Lamrock, tells CBC the ticket has since been withdrawn, once, in his words, "everyone realized it was a ridiculous charge."

Lamrock says Edgar is looking for a public apology along with compensation and is awaiting a response from the airline, which says it will not be commenting on the matter.
