Fredericton humanitarian law conference to consider plight of children in armed conflicts
The 12th annual International Humanitarian Law (IHL) conference is taking place in Fredericton Wednesday.
The conference, which is presented by the Canadian Red Cross and the University of New Brunswick's International Law Society, will aim to raise awareness on the plight of children in armed conflicts.
Guest speakers are set to explore topics including how International Humanitarian Law protects children in war zones, the use of child soldiers, and the care and treatment of children displaced by conflict.
The conference runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Crowne Plaza Lord Beaverbrook Hotel.
