Fredericton police investigate robbery, break and enter

It was quite a busy night for members of the Fredericton Police Force.

Sgt. Scott Mackenzie said officers were called to a north side residence around 11:10 p.m. Friday.

Mackenzie said a male youth had broken into the residence and assault another male youth.

He said the victim suffered moderate injuries in the incident. A female who was also in the residence was not hurt.

Mackenzie said they're still trying to locate the suspect.

Then around 12:50 a.m. Saturday, Mackenzie said they responded to a report of a robbery in the Tannery downtown.

Mackenzie said an adult male allegedly robbed an adult female of an undisclosed amount of cash.

He said witnesses chased the suspect to the Queen Street area, where they apprehended him until police arrived to arrest him.

The victim was treated for minor injuries.
