Fredericton police look for vehicle involved in hit and run

The Fredericton Police Force is looking for a vehicle involved in a hit and run collision last week.

Police say the crash happened at the intersection of Bishop Drive and the traffic circle around 5:45 p.m. Friday.

They say the vehicle was travelling east on Bishop Drive when it turned left on a solid green light leading to the traffic circle and failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle.

"The vehicle then fled the scene to Smythe Street, towards the back of Canadian Tire and down a grass hill onto Priestman Street to continue on York Street," police said in a statement on Friday.

Investigators say the vehicle is described as an older model mid-sized white SUV with some white stickers on the lower right portion of the rear window.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fredericton Police Force at (506) 460-2300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
