Fredericton police nab 6 impaired drivers in 24 hours
Police in Fredericton have started the long weekend by nabbing six impaired drivers over a 24-hour period.
Sgt. Justin LeBlanc told our newsroom Saturday morning that all of the alleged impaired drivers were stopped at checkstops.
LeBlanc said officers will have checkpoints set up throughout the Thanksgiving long weekend as part of Operation Impact.
The annual national road safety initiative targets enforcement in the areas of impaired driving by alcohol or drugs, distracted driving, not wearing a seatbelt and aggressive driving.
