Fredericton's Cultural Centre receives government funding for improvements
The Cultural Centre in Fredericton is getting more than $788,000 in government funding to help with building improvements.
Federal, provincial and municipal officials were on hand Monday to announce the funding.
The project includes renovations to increase the centre's capacity to hold meetings, while creating efficiencies in the building's heating and ventilation system.
Dan Taylor, president and CEO of the centre's board of directors, says the project will allow them to turn what's essentially storage area into usable space for Fredericton non-profit organizations and entrepreneurs.
The provincial and federal governments are each investing $369,093, while the city of Fredericton is contributing $50,000.
