Fredericton to host world-class curling event this summer
A new world-class curling event will hit the ice in New Brunswick later this summer.
Fredericton will host the first-ever Everest Curling Challenge from Aug. 25 to 27 at Willie O'Ree Place.
Officials say 32 of the top women's and men's curlers – including world champions Brad Gushue and Rachel Homan – will compete for a total cash prize of $200,000.
Ticket details and more information are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
It's not the first major curling event to be hosted in New Brunswick's capital in recent months.
Fredericton was home to the Everest Canadian Seniors Curling Championships and the Everest-Ferbey National Pro Am in March.
The event will be broadcast on TSN, which is owned by Bell Media – the same company that owns our radio station.
