Funeral service Saturday for Oromocto First Nation man killed in car crash

A funeral service will be held Saturday in Oromocto for a 27-year-old man killed in a single-vehicle crash earlier this week.

Nicholas Lannigan died Tuesday when his vehicle left Waasis Road and collided with a tree.

The Oromocto First Nation man was awarded the Governor General's Medal of Bravery after he and three other teens rescued a disabled man from a burning apartment building in Oromocto in 2007.

The man later died from his injuries.

Lannigan's funeral service will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 11 a.m.
