Government targets Chinese tourism with mobile payment options

New Brunswick is introducing the mobile payment platforms Alipay and WeChat Pay at tourism attractions across the province in an effort to boost tourism from China.

The provincial government says the payment platforms are two of the most prominent in China and their introduction will help tourism operators to attract and accommodate the growing Chinese travel market.

Alipay and WeChat Pay will be available at several attractions in the province during the tourism season this year -- which has been designated as the Canada-China Year of Tourism.
