Great Little Harbour Seafood Company Ltd. recalling oysters due to salmonella concerns
The Great Little Harbour Seafood Company Ltd. is recalling oysters due to salmonella concerns.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says the oysters were sold in Nova Scotia and Ontario, but they may have also been distributed nationally.
The recall includes the Standards Oysters and the Oysters 3" Small Choice products, both in the 100-count sizes.
The oysters have a harvest date of July 19th and a production date of July 20th.
The CFIA says the recalled products should either be thrown out or returned to the store from which they were purchased.
Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but it can still cause sickness, including such symptoms as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea.
No illnesses have been reported.
