Greenwood Drive work to continue for a few more weeks

Work on Greenwood Drive in Fredericton is now expected to continue until late October or early November due to a problem with newly installed water main pipes.
City engineer Greg McCann says the new water main pipes did not pass their final inspection.
"Water leaks were detected during pressure testing, and as a result, the contractor will have to dig up some pipe for further investigation," McCann said in a statement on Friday.
McCann said crews will do their best to work around this delay by sequencing the installation of curbing and road paving.
Only three houses need to be connected to the new system, he said, and all homes in the area will remain connected to the temporary water system for now.
Work has been ongoing since late May and has caused massive delays — especially at rush hour.
