Heat alert for parts of N.B. on Sunday
New Brunswick's Department of Health has issued a heat alert for parts of the province on Sunday.
The alert is in effect for Fredericton, St. Stephen and Miramichi, as well as York, Sunbury, Carleton and Northumberland counties.
Environment Canada is calling for a high of 32°C, but the humidity will make it feel as warm as 37.
Humidex values are expected to be in the low 30s for the rest of the province, and even lower along the Fundy coast.
Health officials say certain vulnerable persons may be affected by heat-related illnesses and heat stroke.
Those most vulnerable include young children and older adults, homeless individuals, people with chronic health conditions, and people using certain medications.
