Heavy rain and ice pellets to hit region
If you have travel plans today or tomorrow...the weather could affect you...there are already flight cancellations and delays in Fredericton, Saint John and Moncton
Environment Canada says the same weather system that has slammed Ontario in recent days will affect our region and has issued a freezing rain warning for parts of New Brunswick.
Northwestern and central regions of the province are included in that warning...with ice pellets and flurries, then change to freezing rain overnight.
Special weather statements have been issued for the rest of the province, where there is also potential for an extended period of freezing rain, as well as heavy rainfall.
A rainfall warning has been issued for Fredericton and Southern York County, Oromocto and Sunbury County, Grand Lake and Queens County.
A freezing rain warning has been issued for western and northern areas of the province, including Woodstock, Grand Falls and Bathurst.
The province's Emergency Measures Organization continues to monitor the water levels, particularly along the Saint John River Basin.
The situation is stable for now, and water levels are all under flooding level, but the significant rain in the forecast could change things this week.
