IKEA Canada to open collection point in Fredericton

IKEA Canada says it's making shopping more accessible, convenient and affordable for Atlantic Canadians.

The company announced Thursday that it's launching five new collection points – including one in Fredericton.

You won't be able to buy products at the collection points, but you can pick up items ordered online for a $59 delivery fee.

The company say that's considerably less than the average home delivery fee of $155.

All five collection points – including the Fredericton location at 65 McKenzie Road – are owned by third-party service provider Sameway Worldwide.

IKEA also announced Thursday collection points in Charlottetown, New Glasgow, Sydney and St. John's.

That's in addition to collection points previously announced in Moncton, Saint John and Halifax

IKEA Canada plans to open a new store location in Halifax this fall.
