Man admits to possession of stolen church bell from Woodstock-area church
A New Brunswick man has admitted to possessing a stolen church bell from a Woodstock-area church.
The Daily Gleaner reports 52-year-old Anthony Gerald MacKenize admitted to the offence during an appearance in Fredericton Provincial Court on Wednesday.
Court heard the bell was taken from the Kirkland Anglican Church on July 22nd, 2017.
The Daily Gleaner reports MacKenzie appeared in custody and was ordered to be kept behind bars until he returns for sentencing on June 28th.
Details of the offence are set to be revealed at that time.
Police reported last July that a 300-pound brass bell that was stolen from the top of the historic church had been recovered after being found at a Fredericton scrapyard.
