Man arrested after barricading himself inside vehicle in Fredericton
Police in Fredericton say one person has been arrested after barricading himself inside a vehicle.
Sgt. Sean Clark says officers were called to a domestic dispute around 6:30 p.m. Friday.
"A male had been in a domestic situation with his significant other, and there was a Criminal Code investigation as a result of that contact," Clark told our newsroom Saturday morning.
Clark said they eventually located the man, who had barricaded himself inside a vehicle and told officers that he had a weapon.
He said the man left the vehicle about an hour later and was taken into custody without incident.
It was one of 35 calls for service that members of the Fredericton Police Force responded to on Friday night.
Clark said officers also responded to a single-vehicle crash on the city's north side around 4 a.m. Saturday.
"There was three people involved," said Clark. "[There are] unknown injuries at this time because one of the people left the scene."
