Man arrested after Fredericton police seize drugs, cash

A man is facing several charges after Fredericton police say they seized drugs and more than $16,000 cash.

Police say they arrested a man for possession for the purpose of trafficking on the city's south side shortly after 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Officers seized a quantity of drugs believed to be cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, hashish and marijuana, as well as about $16,500 cash.

Police say the seized drugs have an approximate street value of $27,000.

Jason Clarence Martin is facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, and proceeds of crime.

The 46-year-old man is due in court for a bail hearing on Monday.
