Man charged in several Moncton bank robberies
A 49-year-old man has been charged in connection with four bank robberies in Moncton.
The RCMP say the robberies happened between August and September, and an attempted robbery took place at the Omista Credit Union on Cornhill Street on Thursday.
Police say a suspect was arrested near the credit union following the attempted robbery and appeared in court Friday.
Terry Dean Leger of Moncton has been charged with four counts of robbery, attempted robbery, and committing an indictable offence while having his face masked.
Leger was sent for a 30-day psychiatric assessment and is due back in court on Nov. 3.
