Man injured in altercation with several young people in Fredericton
Police in Fredericton say a man was taken to hospital after being involved in an altercation with a group of young people.
Sgt. Ross Chandler told our newsroom that officers were called to Officers' Square in the city's downtown around 5:40 p.m. Saturday.
Chandler said the suspects fled the scene by the time officers arrived, but the victim was still there.
He said the man, who was in his 20s or early 30s, was taken to hospital to be treated and later released.
Chandler said about eight to 15 young people may have been involved in the altercation, and it's not clear whether they knew the man.
He said the incident remains under investigation.
