Moncton woman could face jail time following crash on university campus
A Moncton woman could face jail time following a crash at a university campus.
The Telegraph-Journal reports 19-year-old Felicity Mae Strutt appeared in court for sentencing on charges of dangerous driving, leaving the scene of the crash, and breaching court orders.
Prosecutor Eric Lalonde, as reported by the newspaper, said the incident took place in October at l'Universite de Moncton after a security guard attempted to stop the woman who was seen driving an SUV at a high speed.
She kept driving until she pulled into a parking lot and hit a car, which resulted in both vehicles being destroyed.
The Telegraph-Journal reports that Strutt said she remembers little about the incident as she was high at the time.
The Crown is asking for eight months in jail and additional time for the breaches, while the defence is looking for a conditional sentence.
