N.B. business offers paid leave to employees running in provincial election
How would you like to be paid to run in next September's provincial election?
New Brunswick-based Innovatia is offering its employees two months paid leave to run, with a goal of making it easier for both men and women to take part in politics.
CEO Roxanne Fairweather tells The Daily Gleaner that financial uncertainties are one of the big barriers stopping people, especially women, from even considering running for elected office.
Fairweather says unsuccessful employees will be offered their old jobs back.
