N.B. expands summer jobs program

The New Brunswick government says an extra $4 million in funding is expanding a summer jobs program that provides valuable learning opportunities for students.

Labour Minister Gilles LePage says the funding will create 400 more placements through the Student Employment Experience Development program -- bringing the total to two-thousand.

The additional investment has also helped expand the placement duration for college and graduating high school students to nine weeks from eight weeks and to 14 weeks from 10 weeks for university students.

Students have until March 31st to apply for the program and eligible applicants will be selected in April.
