N.B. hires recruiter to assist with adoptions

New Brunswick has hired a social worker to help children and youth in the permanent care of the province be adopted.

The recruiter will build relationships with the children and youth and work to find them adoptive homes.

The province has signed an agreement with the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption to use the Wendy's Wonderful Kids child-focused recruitment model.

Suzanne Kingston, executive director of the New Brunswick Adoption Foundation, says the program and its child-centered approach has been shown to be very effective across North America.
