N.B. invests in early learning and child care trust fund

The provincial government says it's investing $1 million in the early learning and child care trust fund.

A review board dispurses funding to operators of child care facilities, recognized post-secondary institutions and individuals employed in an approved child care facility.

Grants are awarded for creating rural, infant and extended-hours child care spaces, and for creating child care spaces offered in the minority language of a community.

The fund also offers tuition reimbursements for people earning an early childhood education certificate.

Premier Brian Gallant says one of the best ways to improve long-term educational outcomes is by investing in early learning.
