N.B. legislature marks World Autism Awareness Day

The New Brunswick legislature will be lit up in blue Sunday night to mark World Autism Awareness Day.

Speaker Chris Collins says autism spectrum disorder is one of the most common developmental disorders affecting children in Canada and around the world.

Collins says World Autism Awareness Day is a chance to raise awareness about the disorder and to promote early diagnosis and intervention.

Autism Speaks Canada says autism is the fastest growing and most commonly diagnosed neurological disorder in Canada, with one in 68 children currently diagnosed.
