N.B. signs new contract with Crown prosecutors

The New Brunswick government has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with its Crown prosecutors.

The group, represented by the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada, includes 63 Crown prosecutors and family Crown counsel at the Office of the Attorney General.

Officials say the contract includes general economic increases of 4.8 per cent and an adjustment tied to the discontinuance of the retirement allowance benefit.

The province says it has signed collective agreements with 22 union groups since Oct. 2014.
