N.B. students to test new energy storage device
A New Brunswick company founded by three university students plans to test an energy storage device they invented in Summerside, P.E.I.
Stash Energy – based in Fredericton – was started by three students at UNB who are doing their masters in engineering entrepreneurship.
They've been working to create a device that uses smart grid technology to take cheap, off-peak energy and store it thermally using a unique compound they created.
That stored energy can be used during peak hours when electricity is more expensive.
