NB Power, government investing up to $234M in energy efficiency programs
NB Power says New Brunswickers will benefit from big investments in energy efficiency programs for homes, businesses and public spaces.
But officials are offering few details about what those programs will be.
The utility and the provincial and federal governments will spend up to $234 million over the next five years, starting next spring.
NB Power will invest up to $82 million over three years for new and enhanced programs for homeowners, businesses and industry to reduce energy consumption.
The province will spend up to $101 million for energy retrofits and renewable energy upgrades in provincial government buildings while the federal government will invest up to $15 million through the Low Carbon Economy Fund.
More details are expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks and months.
