New Brunswick delegation heading to China to promote trade
A delegation from New Brunswick is heading to China next week aiming to strengthen trade ties and build on recent trade missions.
Lt.-Gov. Jocelyne Roy Vienneau and Aquaculture and Fisheries Minister Rick Doucet will lead the group which includes representatives of 17 New Brunswick companies and the University of New Brunswick, as well as Opportunities NB.
Doucet says this is the largest multi-sector trade mission New Brunswick has ever undertaken.
While in China from Sunday through next Saturday, a twinning agreement is expected to be signed between the delegation and the province of Hebei.
With a population of 73 million people, the province will be designated as a special economic zone to promote development in that region.
