New cabinet portfolio part of next cabinet shuffle, says Gallant
New Brunswick's premier says a new cabinet portfolio will be part of the next cabinet shuffle.
Brian Gallant announced the new portfolio — to be named minister of labour, employment and population growth — in his annual Labour Day message on Sunday.
"Because of the importance of a strong relationship with the labour movement, coupled with the interconnectedness between this relationship, growing employment developing a vibrant workforce and maintaining and growing our population, I am pleased to say that a new cabinet portfolio – minister of labour, employment and population growth – will be included in the next cabinet shuffle," Gallant said in a statement.
Gallant hinted during a recent caucus retreat that a cabinet shuffle is coming soon, but said no timetable has been set.
It's not clear what will happen with the already existing Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour file, which is currently held by Donald Arseneault.
