New multiculturalism exhibit opens at Fredericton Region Museum

A new exhibition on immigration, settlement and multiculturalism in New Brunswick opened at the Fredericton Region Museum on Sunday.

The exhibit examines early instances of immigration in New Brunswick, such as the Black Loyalists and Refugees, the impact of the 1971 multiculturalism policy, and the future role of multiculturalism in the province.

It also features interviews with members of different multicultural communities in Fredericton.

Officials hope the new gallery will make visitors aware of New Brunswick's multicultural history and highlight the important role that diversity plays in the community today.
