Nursing home workers hold protest in downtown Fredericton

Several hundred CUPE members protested in downtown Fredericton Thursday.

A news release from CUPE says the protest happened in front of the Delta Hotel where the New Brunswick Association of Nursing Homes were holding their Annual General Meeting.

This marks the second time the group has held a demonstration in the last few weeks.

The news release says the Council of New Brunswick Council of Nursing Home Unions (NBCNHU), which represents more than 4000 CUPE members in the province, is protesting proposed concessions by the New Brunswick Association of Nursing Homes in collective agreement negotiations.

The conciliation is scheduled for the end of the month.
