Oromocto fire chief says boats being used to rescue people trapped in Maugerville
The fire chief in Oromocto says boats are being used to rescue people trapped across the rising Saint John River in Maugerville.
Jody Price says people were able to drive out of the area last Friday but by Wednesday that only way to get out was by boat.
Price is cautioning people that the higher the water gets, the harder it is to get to them.
He also says people who are thinking of leaving need to do so during daylight hours because rescue crews for safety reasons don't operate at night unless its an emergency.
