Point Lepreau granted 5-year operating licence
NB Power has been granted a five-year power reactor operating licence for the Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station.
The decision by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission comes after a two-part public hearing process in Ottawa and Saint John.
More than 90 interveners provided written submissions about their views of the station's relicensing, with 40 of them making presentations to the independent federal nuclear regulator.
Point Lepreau's current licence expires at the end of June.
