Police investigate robberies in Fredericton and Oromocto

City police will be checking surveillance tapes today to try to identify the suspect in an  attempted armed robbery uptown  last night.  Police responded to a 9-1-1 call at around ten o'clock, after a man using the RBC drive- through ATM machine was approached by a man with a gun.  The motorist took off and called police who cordoned off the area and brought in the canine unit. They believe the man got away in a waiting vehicle.

Meantime, R-C-M-P in Oromocto are investigating an armed robbery at a local pharmacy.    Police say a man armed with a knife entered the Riverside Pharmacy Tuesday night and climbed over the counter and made off with a number of prescription medications.   
 The suspect, who drove away on a blue A-T-V, was wearing a grey winter coat and a yellow, black and white helmet.
