Premier's Council on the Status of Disabled Persons looks to honour businesses

Do you know of a business that has taken steps to become more accessible to persons with disabilities?

If so, the Premier's Council on the Status of Disabled Persons wants to hear from you.

They want to recognize businesses around the province during the 2017 Disability Awareness Week, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

Efforts could include hiring persons with disabilities to adding ramps or automatic doors within the establishment.

Here's what the organizing committee needs from you:

  • details about where the business is and what type of service they provide;
  • a quick note on the efforts they've made and the positive impact that has arisen; and
  • photos or videos of the accessibility measures (if possible).

Submissions can be emailed to daw@gnb.ca before June 2.
