Province and federal government investing more than $1 million in Caraquet manufacturing facility

The provincial and federal governments have announced a more than $1 million investment in a Caraquet manufacturing facility.

Government says the money will support the purchase of new equipment by Premier Tech Chronos, which designs and manufactures packaging for a variety of industries.

It says the company has purchased plying computer numerical control equipment, a milling machine, and has made improvements to its processes and layout to help increase productivity.

The investment has helped the company to create 27 new jobs, bringing its number of employees in Caraquet to 56.

The federal government will provide repayable contributions totalling $800,000, while Opportunities NB is investing a non-repayable contribution of $250,000.
