Province announces investment in new plows, depot upgrades

The province has announced a more than $15 million investment in upgrades to infrastructure and equipment at the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure depots and district garages. 

Around $11 million will be invested in 47 new plows, which which be distributed across the province, while the remaining $4 million will be invested in building upgrades. 

Mid-life upgrades are planned for depots in Pokemouche, Renous, Indian Mountain, Saint-Léonard, Fredericton Junction, Plaster Rock and Hillsborough.

Some of the upgrades will include roofs being replaced at the Acadieville, Memramcook, and Parkindale depots, a boiler being replaced at the Riverside-Albert maintenance depot, and site drainage being improved at the Sackville maintenance depots.

The Bathurst, Miramichi, and St. Stephen district garages will see security and mechanical upgrades as well as improvements to building or site drainage.
