Province announces new Francophone residency program in psychiatry
The province has announced the establishment of a new Francophone residency program in psychiatry in New Brunswick.
The program will be offered through the collaboration of the provincial government, the psychiatry department of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, the Université de Sherbrooke, and the New Brunswick Francophone Medical Education Program.
Government says the program will be five years in duration and two residents will be admitted each year.
The training will be provided at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton.
Health Minister Benoît Bourque says this program will help make the province more attractive to students wishing to pursue a career in psychiatry.
