Province, federal government investing in Fredericton Junction infrastructure projects
The province and federal government have announced a more than $1.6 million joint investment for two new infrastructure projects in Fredericton Junction.
Government says the replacement of the municipal well is the first project, while the second project involves renewing the Wilsey Road Wastewater Pumping Station.
The federal and provincial government are each contributing over $442,000 for the municipal well replacement project, while the village will provide the remainder.
For the pumping station renewal project, the federal government is investing nearly $144,000, the province will contribute close to $72,000, and the village will cover the remaining balance.
James Webb, the deputy mayor of Fredericton Junction, says the funding will help the village address two major issues, including providing safe drinking water to residents and providing them with a modern and efficient wastewater facility.
