Province issues request for proposals for upgrades at Perth-Andover hospital

The province has issued a request for proposals for upgrades at the Hotel-Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital in Perth-Andover.

Officials say the estimated $7.65 million investment will allow for demolition of the section of hospital that's prone to flooding and has been condemned since 2012.

It will also allow for the construction of an essential services building on higher ground.

Construction is expected to begin on June 5 and be completed early 2018.

The province says it will seek to recover costs from the federal government.
