Province says Appcast to create up to 70 jobs in Fredericton over next four years

Government says Appcast will create up to 70 jobs in Fredericton over the next four years.

A news release from the province says the New Hampshire-based job-search company is eligible for up to $1.35 million in support from Opportunities NB, which is a Crown corporation that seeks opportunities to create jobs and grow the economy.

The funding will come in the form of payroll rebates, which are based on performance and will only be disbursed once a company has created and maintained jobs for one year and provided proof of salary levels and employment.

The company, which is expanding from its current staffing level of more than 70 employees, expects the new positions to come in the fields of account management and sales.

Opportunities NB says it's estimated the new jobs will contribute up to $23.6 million toward the province’s GDP and $2.954 million in provincial taxes over a four-year-period.
