Province, Town of Shediac investing in ramps construction project

The province and the Town of Shediac are partnering to build two new ramps that will connect Route 15 and Chesley Street.

The government and the town will share the estimated $2-million cost of the project evenly.

The project will provide a more direct route from Route 15, which is a trade corridor for several industries, to the downtown core as well as residential areas south of Main Street.

Government says the project is expected to ease traffic congestion on Main Street and also create opportunities for development on the south side of Route 15.

Construction has already begun and is expected to be completed in September.
